bio

Kevin Wingate is an artist living in Los Angeles. He grew up in Missouri, Texas, Georgia, and back again in Missouri; always following the trail of building materials and leaving fresh roots and unsold homes. He moved to Los Angeles in 1999. With wide thorough fares and a semi-unhealthy “marine layer”, it presented itself as a city full of transplants, a place where his Chevy Pickup could make u-turns and the image of an almond fade in the sky could allure like a siren. Currently, Kevin resides next to a mountain in the north east corner of LA. His once perfect trapezoid, pushed pinned to a cork map of America, is now skewed between cultural markers such as custom fetish paint schemes, country music, themed megaplexes and his own term of honorary geometry.
